Considered by many to be one of the greatest musicals ever written, Gypsy is a light-hearted musical drama based on the memoirs of 1930’s burlesque entertainer, Gypsy Rose Lee.The legendary Jule Styne, Stephen Sondheim and Arthur Laurents joined to create one of the most complex characters in the American musical: Mama Rose, the ultimate stage mother. This 1959 blockbuster boasts an unforgettable score with such classic songs as:

Erik L. Preminger, son of burlesque star Gypsy Rose Lee poses with Kiel Klaphake, Arizona Broadway Theatre’s Executive Producer, and director of ‘Gypsy’ currently showing at ABT. Preminger traveled to Peoria to present ‘Gypsy Rose Lee’s Home Movies’ a documentary of his mother’s life.
